Darren Simmons, from the
Academy says 'to be a successful presenter you need charm, charisma and
self confidence. New presenters can struggle with nerves. It is therefore
very important to be natural and to learn how to overcome this fear. Good
presenters are able to ad lib, tackle scripts quickly, possess excellent
vocal skills and be able to see the funny side when things go wrong -
which they invariably will when it is live!
The TV Training Academy will be able to train the finalists in these areas of expertise and provide them with many challenging tasks to overcome - including a live broadcast. We are really looking forward to working with Life TV on this search and expect that there are a lot of talented people out there who will jump at this unique opportunity'. When sending in a video for application it must: - Be no longer than 2 and a half to 3 mins max - Not have just one clip of the applicant but have a 2 or 3 different to show variety - Unless the applicant is aiming for a hard hitting political or serious subject... keep it light hearted and entertaining - Be creative and different, maybe go out and about, in the car, somewhere nice to film... - Above all... Be yourself on camera... don't try and put on a performance Please ensure videos are VHS... as in the larger videos played in a normal video recorder, or DVD. Please do not send Digital 8 Mini Cassettes as we do not have the facility to play them. Home footage is fine... we are not looking for professional showreels.. we just want to see you sparkle... We will do the rest!
