Just blessed - tons of music videos
How long have you been doing the job?
5 yrs.
Did you decide on your career path or did it all happen by accident?
I was at school in a bad relationship and decided to come to LA on a 1 week vacation. Left dorm room with books and clothes and all in my room.. ready for the next semester - well I left everything. I never came back an agent asked me to model and I never stopped working since.
How did you get your "Glamour Job" ?
I audition day after day. I was seen by an agent and he decided to help me. Go from place to place sometimes just to take a polaroid, sometimes up-to 3 hrs away just for that. Also you really know when people keep telling you that you should be a model or go to California.. if that's what they saw then.. imagine what others would say!!!
What does the job involve?
Going city to city auditioning. Waiting for my turn after booking the job, you have to be on time to the shoot. Make up and hair then wardrobe, shooting involves a lot of sitting around too. It takes a while to set up shots. I must say Mitsubishi has flown me places, put me up in the best hotels and spas and all I have to do is enjoy the time and work 4 to 5 hours a day staging a performance, touring or just signing autographs. Also I do body doubles for some of the biggest stars. You might have seem me on the cover of a movie. It's probably my body or someone I know!
Describe a typical day at work.
At least 3 days a week. Wake up 8am, gym at 9, home, clean wash - 10am - 11.
Go to auditions from 1-6pm. grab lunch in between, 7pm come home relax. during the day speak with agents for the next days plans.
Other days - make calls, make music in studio, think. educate myself..pray.. sometimes sit in a cast in a position doing nothing.
What do you like most about the job?
Working once a month or working once a year and still being able to provide for the next 5 years. Being able to travel and come up with new projects and meeting new people. Working with whom the public calls stars and also being able to sleep in if I wanted to - you never have to go to work unless you really want to.
What don’t you like about your job – if anything?
Agents take some time to get the money to you after booking huge jobs. Some are quick about it, some agents I have dropped in the past cause of this. "Don't screw with my money" I have to eat too. I don't like going from one side of the town through traffic just to go in and take a snap shot.
During your teenage years did you have much vocational guidance from school, university, family or friends? What was your biggest influence?
Biggest influence was myself to just try it, it couldn't hurt. Everyone has different personalities. I use them all in acting. I think all my life friends, family, work, baseball, it all helped. I'm a team player and my dad worked hard he provided so I know I will do the same.
If you took end of school examinations did you get exam results you were happy with from your education?
I was 22. I got good grades 2.5 I was average.
Do you think that what you studied in school or in your further education was right for the career you are in now? Any regrets?
Not really but I'm here now and I wouldn't change a thing. No regrets, I would take High School a little more serious cause now when I look back I can really see how really easy it was.
Have you taken further studies since leaving secondary or tertiary school. If yes, what did you study and why did you decide you needed more qualifications?
I studied comedy, and advertising school.
What was your first job?
My first job was modelling faces, being the Mannequin that you see in Sears, Macy's, that face is mine. Also I am in different poses at Disneyland - the arms you see on faces might just be mine.
What has been your most bizarre or challenging job to date?
Maybe the Mitsubishi job. The audition was long and held 3 different times. Hundreds of people auditioned for it, it was hard.. but I came out on top.. boy I was praying for the longest time at the audition and this guy saw me and started praying too and it's so happens he's the guy in the backseat funny huh??
What is your ultimate goal.... is this it, or do you have a pinnacle you have yet to reach?
Yes these jobs have financed my way to the top.. I want to own a company called u. m. entertainment.. and be the boss. It will have dancers, music, video's, scripts..
What are your top tips for personal success?
Take action, take the first step, go for it. Don't let anyone tell you you aren't good enough. Focus on the positive and really believe it. Your brain has no clue it's really real what's it's thinking. Do it all with a happy face.. and have fun. There are going to be bad times - know that already, then just look at everything as a challenge not a situation.. problems come everyday.. it's how you deal with them..
Any comments?
Be original.. have fun and smile.. be patient, and take your time....
